Everyone want to be successful both in and out of class - both online and off. How can we help our students to be successful when they are working online?

Give our students enough support and encouragement to enable them to participate actively in class activities.

Give warm comments on ours students' work. Comment on their weak points in a non-agressive way or in such a way that we do not make them feel embarrased.

We need to keep our students interested and encourage online interaction and experience sharing.

Students need to have a reason for completing online activities. They need to know why it is important for them to do them.

Based on what I've got from the reading, If the job for the students is that hard, the one the teachers have would be harder. While students start facing troubles getting used to the online work, teachers need to be working on how they can make it a enjoyable experience. First of all, teachers need to create a nice and lovely environment for the students, letting them know that working this way might have bigger difficulties than working on a traditional classroom. Fun, organization and lots of patience are to taken into account for teachers in online environments.

Set a clear purpose for the activities proposed, have fun w/students while working online, learn from what they know as well ( sometimes they are the experts ), always give sts feedback on their work.

Students must understand the purpose of what they are doing, have fun and be committed to their goals as well as the teacher.

By helping them to use internet effectively and appropriately for the right use... make them independent users!

Provide some orientation materials that students have to respond to, so that you know if they understand what kind of participation is expected.

Teachers moderating an online course must have a strong online presence. In addition he/she must be a great communicator, should always encourage students to participate and share experiences and make the learning experience meaningful.

Fantastic ideas. If we all followed them, we would have very enthusiastic leathers.

I think that we (as instructors) should be aware that it is our responsibility to make sure students handle or manage any tool we give them to work with before we assign them any homework involving those tools.
