I totally agree with everything posted here, but I would also like to add some personal assumptions everybody needs to follow, and they are: 1) What Am I doing here? 2) Am I really into the ideology replicated here? Am I ready to share and improve the quality of my teaching, to be as honest as possible to my students on giving them an education of quality? As believe that there are many mores questions we can ask ourselves that when done in advance can benefit everyone enrolled in an online course of this magnitude.

I think participating the Online courses is too time-consuming amd nobody would learn on-line if he/she wouldn`t be a great FAN of either ESL/EFL teacher or any other professional. It needs a good health and strong eyes. The person should be very CURIOUS and PATIENT to sit surfing the Web for a long time. Because of the inflexible and slow Internet, for example. A person who learns on-line has to be free or has to be married to such a quiet and faithful wife as it is in my case. ;D Victor .

I, too, believe that we have to understand how we learn, to better be prepared for online learning. This includes thinking about what we write, being aware of how our message comes across and also managing our time to be able to complete the assignments when due. Online learning is growing in popularity and many universities are creating courses and degrees online to make education accessible to all types of learners. I think it is very convenient and enjoy online courses.

An on line participant should first and foremost have a good command of time management. Additionally , they should be active participants and do the best they can to get more and more involved with their project.

Hello Everybody, After reading the text I consider that being part of an On-line course one needs to acquire new procedures and new ways of communicating. It would be a total new strange experience for us, adults, and I am sure that many of us would feel like giving up, if the plartform is not well organized and even more if many steps should be followed to post a message or upload an assignment. I think that a platform should be friendly and easy to use, otherwise teachers would give up in the first few days. I can tell you this, because in Argentina we are going to get one netbook per student. and different on line courses are being offered, and many teachers have dropped out, despite the fact that the tutors were really encouraging! Their comments were too difficult to handle. Anyway, we are many in here, who want to grow up professionally, and that's great! I have participated in may on line courses and I have to confess that getting here was quite an experience, so I agree with the author when he says that we should familiarize with the webpage and then start working!!! Regards,
Juan Domingo from Esquel Chubut Argentina

I think being open to interaction and sparing time for the online learning experience and being positive about it are the most essential things in order not to lose interest in the online experience and see the value and benefit of it.

Being an on-line learner gives the opportunity to develop autonomy and sense of responsibility. Learner-centredness is essential, as well as the constant facilitator presence, in a synchronous or asynchronous way. Consequently, learners should organize their work in order to deal with deadlines, quality work and task fulfillment.
