Yes, very helpful. We can conclude that learning is a difficult matter anyway, but it always should be focused on the learner and the real life. It is not a matter of just "input" but "output"

It is e-learning and not e-teaching, which I think is the point because it's not really teaching with technology but learning through technology. Using technology as a learning tool.
It reminds me of a Tiger strip from the late Bud Blake.
Tiger, a young boy is talking to a friend about his dog, Stripe.
And he says, “I taught Stripe how to whistle.”
His friend replies, “I don’t hear him whistling.”
Tiger, with a disgusted look on his face, responds,
“I said I taught him. I didn’t say he learned.

Quite illustrative! I completely agree that this should be our target and it can be accomplished and supported appropriately by technology so that when our students leave the formal education they have developed learning autonomy.

Quite a nice, illustrative reading. I would bring here again my example from another slot. E-learning is not just digitalizing your textbook and uploading it online. There must be more.

Yes a very good point ! There have been studies which show that despite a state of the art interactive white board the teacher-learner roles often remain static. The tools are only what we and students make of them !

The article is quite perfect ! The author explains in a bit comic, happy and accessible way how to make clear the meaning of the E-learning. I find it absolutely helpful. The matter is the presence of the feedback makes the E-learning essential and differs it from the simple surfing in the Web. I can`t make any additions to the table that shows the clear steps of E-learning activities from the simplest level growing to the most complicated levels. The story of a boy called Tiger and his dog shows us how the e-teaching differs from the e-learning. It`s funny but instructive enough. Victor. ;D

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. On a steep learning curve - you're right to say that we have to start simple ! cheers Helen
