I guess that all and everything!! With chat teachers can not only improve their teaching skills but also learn about new cultures, new people and new customs. I don't see any drawback as far as chatting is concerned. Smiles, M

Even though there are many possible difficulties when using chat in language teaching ,especially when you are a novice, there are lot of advantages for both teachers and pupils. The best thing about using chat in teaching is that we can connect with people all around the Globe and interact in real time in order to share our work and knowledge. While collaborating via chat we can get immediate feedback and evaluation of our work, ideas and teaching. Kind regards, Karolina

Like you guys have stated above, it depends on the level and how familiarized you are with different chats, but it can be simpler things like text messaging, I often encourage my learners to text me in English whenever they can't come to class and to text their classmates and afterwards we can have a session where we look at some of the texts and do peer correction.

I do fully agree with Karolina that chat is an immediate tool for exchanging knowledge across the borders, which I experienced here. We just have to chat more.
